History

Luke joined the Collaboratory (when it was DE) in the Spring of 2005. Luke transferred to Messiah College after completing his freshman year at the University of Waterloo. Upon arriving at Messiah, Luke found himself rooming with Joel Travis who had just returned from a trip to Burkina Faso. This led Luke to his decision to join the Collaboratory. This happened at the same time that Jon Patrick's intrigue and curiosity pertaining to the Collaboratory's existance and purpose arose, thus beginning both Luke's and Jon's Collaboratory journey together. Luke began his leadership career within the Collaboratory when he filled the role of Biodiesel Manager during the Fall of 2006. He then proceeded to fill the shoes of Mark Reiff as Energy Group Leader in the Spring of 2007. These leadership positions developed Luke's skills and potential to a point which led him to apply and be accepted to Penn State University's Master's program in Energy and Geo-Environmental Engineering as well as be selected to join the leadership core of the Penn State Solar Decathlon team (following in the footsteps of Matt Rooke).
