Program Manager of the Collaboratory

History

Rodney Green was raised in Michigan, USA and has a BSc in Education degree from Central Michigan University in the USA, with a major in History, and minors in English/Religion. He taught History, English, and Philosophy and Ethics in the UK and Mexico for a total of two years. Rodney enjoyed building community within the classroom and empowering students, and decided to expand his skills to the contexts of poverty, exploitation, and community development. He served as an intern for community development initiatives in Ecuador for two months, took a job as the manager of a Community Centre in the UK for two years, and began studying for his MSc in Global Development Management. With a desire to do more to help the plight of vulnerable girls sold into the sex trade in India, Rodney moved with his wife to India in 2011 to take the post of Program Associate - Advancement and Communications with an anti-trafficking organization. For 1.5 years, Rodney assisted in the direction of an award-winning documentary, fostered inter-organizational partnerships, provided anti-trafficking consultation to other organizations, spearheaded communications/advancement, and inputted into strategic development in addition to participating in a couple of rescue operations. In December 2012, Rodney took the post of Program Manager for the Collaboratory for Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research at Messiah College near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania USA. For his MSc dissertation, Rodney conducted a research project on cooperative/coordination relationships between organizations engaged in rehabilitation strategies with sex trafficking survivors in India. Participating organizations included the European Commission, Tearfund, Rescue Foundation, and International Justice Mission. Rodney enjoys traveling, writing, rock-climbing, reading, hiking, sports, and good films. Rodney has been married to his wife Diana for four years. He speaks fluent Spanish, and basic conversational Hindi.
