Walking With the Poor
From The Collaboratory
Summary
Purpose statement
Walking with the Poor is a useful guide in learning about poverty and transformational development. The information from Walking with the Poor can be used as a resource for members of the Collaboratory in their work in serving others around the world, particularly in poverty-stricken nations.
Goals
The goal for reading this book is to better inform members of the Collaboratory about poverty in the world they live in. Poverty is more than economic instability, and Relational Marketing wants to learn more about it. Another goal of this project is to better inform trip teams about the culture they are preparing to visit. It is important for members of a trip team to understand the context they are entering, so they can be culturally relevant.
History
This project is new in 2006, however a goal is for a relevant book to be read and documented yearly to better inform and equip trip teams as well as members of the Collaboratory.
